1 Peter 2:23 & It all about me

June 1, 2017

I was blessed get to go to a one day conference called Keep Austin Agile. This is a yearly conference held in Austin Texas. It has to do with all thing agile project management.  Which I am now apart of that world so I try to learn more all the time.

One of the session at this years conferee was called "Its All About Me!

The thing I took away from the session is this:

"Everything I say and do is about me. It doesn't matter is I talk to you, about you, or through you. It's still about me.

The other side of that is what I say and do is not about you, it's about me."

I have been thinking about this, for a week now. i am not sure how this fix in to my life.

Every week I go to a bible study the just looks at a chapter in a book of the Bible. We are currently looking at 1 Peter 2 in the new testament

Today at the end of the chapter we where look at these verses:

"21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 22 "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."  23 when they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 "He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sine and live for righteousness; "by his wounds you have been healed."

After reading this today i asked the bible study how did Jesus do this?

One of the members of the groups answers it something like this:
"that was the God in him, that is what made him different."

As she was explaining her thoughts, I had the "its all about me" session pop in my mind and it was made clear.

When people are attacking you we more like I need to remember the above that what they are saying is about them about me.  They are trying to express something but I am the vehicle they are using to express themselves.

I think this maybe how Christ was about to do above passage. he understood that the people hurling the mean words at him where express there own fear. This is how i express my fear or anger I hurl words at my wife, my kids, my boss, my coworkers, my Christ to hurt them to make them feel as bad as I feel.

I am sorry I do this, I will need to work on it, and it will take valor to do this. That is why I feed the valor everyday.
